  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by about 250,000 tons of CO2 equivalent or 36 per cent per m2 of sales area compared with 2006
  • Six photovoltaic systems set up (as of 31 December 2014: 21 locations with photovoltaic systems, 97,400 m2 of total module area or 12,600 kilowatt peak
Reduction of refrigerant-related greenhouse gas emissions per square metre of sales area by 35 per cent by 2022 compared with the base year 2012 (KPI)
  • Reduction of refrigerant-related greenhouse gas emissions per square metre of sales area by 23 per cent by 2014 compared with the base year 2012 (KPI)
  • Purchase of 17,800 plug-in refrigerating units that use the natural refrigerant propane for REWE and PENNY
  • Implementation of measures and test of refrigerants with lower greenhouse gas potential
  • Organisation of two refrigerating forums with a total of 100 participants, including recognition of efficient service providers
Environmentally conscious logistics
  • Purchase of 139 trucks that meet Euro 5/Euro 6 standards
